The title of the piece is the title of the piece in the museum that spoke to me, and here is the result.
Deep I stalked into the jungle, Of a land long forgotten. It was lush, humid, and hot. Unforgiving.
Sometimes out of the corner of my eye, I swore I saw ghosts from another time. The climate was still harsh. But the people not only lived, breathed, and died. They thrived.
If I turned they would disappear. Instead I would see the jungle proud to have taken over, mighty to behold. I walked aimlessly for what seemed days. Until by chance I found the heart of a ruin.
It had to have been a strong city. One of power. One to envy. For all its glory, All I could see was the head.
The head of a jaguar. A symbol of royalty from long ago. Even falling apart and covered in green, It stood tall. Forever guarding, Always watching. Even ruined its beauty touched me.
I couldn't find the picture of the piece so no link to it.
