Welcome! As the title suggests, this is the planning thread for an upcoming game to be held on these very boards. At this point you may have several very good questions, which I will be happy to answer.
What is the purpose of this thread?
This thread is to inform you, the gamer, of the vital information pertaining to the campaign, and for you and your fellow adventurers to discuss the party line-up and post your characters. Of course if you have any questions, feel free to use this thread to post them as well. If you want to PM me your backstories, go ahead, or just post them here as well. Whatever works for you.

What rules will we be using?
We'll be using 3.5 rules, but with one major exception: we aren't using any of the base or prestige classes from any wizards publication.
We'll be using these. These classes are something I've wanted to try for years, but haven't had the chance. If we end up hating it, we can always switch. This format seems perfect for them (what with the internet access and all). Just the classes, though. Races and feats are the same as normal.
What level are we starting at?
First.
How in-depth does my backstory need to be?
Not very, just whatever you feel comfortable with. This will be a short campaign (probably), so you don't need a huge, convoluted backstory (unless it floats your boat, then convolute away!).
The Setting
Our story begins in the prosperous trading town of Racove on the idyllic Rosen River. All is not well, however. Rumors of goblin raids on the upstream village of Heronpool are supported by tales of river sailors about ships falling prey to goblin attacks. The noble house of Delat, charged with the policing of this river, have increased the guard on the river ten-fold, and charge much more in tolls to afford it, but even with these measures hasn't managed to halt the losses on the river. The Lytton family, a local shipping family, loudly and often decry House Delat for their failure in guarding their boats and rumor has it they are leading several families in issuing a formal protest to the king. In the meantime, the goblin raids continue with (according to rumor) terrible loss of life.
If you are interested in joining, just make sure I get the basic information about your character (name, race, class/levels, backstory) in whatever way you want be it posting or private messaging, and go ahead and talk to your fellow party members on this thread while we get things going.
